5 Steps to planning your children’s party in Colchester
GabSav’s Party Hire – here to help you plan your children’s birthday party in Colchester.
Making your children’s birthday a memorable one can feel a bit daunting, stressful and overwhelming. Children love to socialise, love to be spoiled and love to play. So planning your children’s party in Colchester is something we can help you with. By adding 5 steps to help you along the way with some suggestions too! From suppliers to just great ideas, let GabSav’s Party Hire run you through what to do next!
1. Venue, venue, venue
Finding the right venue is super important. It helps you know how many guests to invite, what type of entertainment to put on and whether or not you need to keep an eye on the weather too! For larger children’s parties and for next to 100% certainty it can go ahead, you may look at community spaces and halls. We recommend Great Bromley Village Hall and also Great Bentley Village Hall too. With the latter being a much bigger space.
If you have space in your garden, then perhaps this is the right space for the party as it’s familiar for your children, and for yourselves too. No need to leave anything behind! If the garden is not quite big enough for your party plans, then perhaps you have a close friend or relative who has the space to help you. The downside to outside space is of course the unpredictable Essex weather. Whether you are in Witham, Colchester, or Clacton, the weather is never guaranteed!
2. Food, wonderful food!
One very important step is the food, and keeping both the children’s tummies filled up, but also the parents and adults too. There’s two parts to the food to consider, the savoury and the sweet!
Savoury
Buffets are the most popular choice and you can go to some great local Colchester businesses such as our friends at Colchester Bon Appetit or The Event Catering Company. Although what we have found at a lot of parties is that you can easily feed the guests yourself using the same budget. From slow cooker meals, to BBQ food if you are having an outdoor children’s party in Colchester or surrounding areas. Last year we delivered our castles and there was a buffet of food for children, with Nigerian dishes served and a rather large Domino’s delivery! There was something for everyone!
Sweet
The birthday cake is a big deal! And Colchester is surrounded by amazing bakers that can customise the cake to your theme and child’s tastebuds too! Personally we recommend both SK Bakes or Annie’s Cake Creations. Two lovely ladies that own two great businesses baking seriously delicious baked goods! Their cakes will certainly help you provide the best children’s party in Colchester. We’ve personally used both for our daughters birthday and also for our nieces birthday who is gluten-free. If you didn’t want to go down that route, there are some great options at local supermarkets. At Asda, you can add a photo to the top of a cake for that personalised touched.
3. Decorations and bringing the party to life!
Balloons, confetti, paper plates. That’s the foundation for creating a truly magical children’s party in Colchester, Clacton or across Essex. Amazon can be a great space to get the individual pieces of decor to complete your party decorations. If you have an idea and need a creative team to really bring this to light, then we recommend Rock The Day who can create a bespoke set for your children’s party.
4. Entertainment
Perhaps quite obviously, bouncy castles ALWAYS go down and treat and yes, we are blowing our own trumpet. But if you think back to when you were a child, when you went on your very first bouncy castle. To view our castles, you can click here and see if we have the right bouncy castles for your party in Colchester. We cover, Colchester, Clacton and other Tendring areas, Sudbury and Witham. We do consider other areas so feel free to get in touch.
Other entertainment ideas are princess appearances, soft play hire (we do offer some soft play packages), face painting from Painty McPaintface or hiring garden games such as giant jenga and giant connect four. There are plenty of options to keep the little and bigger ones entertained.
5. Party bags
Party bags are iconic for children's parties. You can find these at supermarkets on order online from Amazon to suit your party. Bubble blowers, miniature chocolates, crisps and other favours are often popular. Send the children away from the party with a final treat and thank you for their attendance. Although we’re sure they are already very grateful and exhausted from all the fun!
GabSav’s Party Hire - Your local bouncy castle company helping you plan your party!
For us, we truly do take an immense amount of joy and pride when we see your little ones enjoy our bouncy castles. From the moment it first inflates to the groans and moans that it deflates (we’re sorrrryyy). We genuinely are a company that are for the kids, and for the parents. On the day of our hires we try to get the children involved by letting them switch the castle on or take front row seat as it inflates. We we also like to get them involved when we’re squeezing the air out of the castle to pack it away.
