Looking Back: The "Rainy Relay" of 2025
Last year was a whirlwind for us. Having launched GabSav’s Party Hire in late 2024, being "given the green light" for the Relay For Life Colchester 2025 event was our first major milestone—and we loved every second of it. Even the rain! It didn't stop the energy, the spirit, and all the fun that happened that day! We loved the whole day, and so did the children that bounced on our bouncy castles!
However, if you were at the Garrison last year, you’ll remember one thing: the classic British summer rain! It wasn’t exactly the tropical weather we’d hoped for, but in true Colchester spirit, the weather didn't stop the fun.
At GabSav’s, we had our work cut out for us. Our castles were getting a proper soaking, and our team was out there doing everything possible to keep them as dry as we could. Despite our best efforts with the towels and squeegees, they weren't 100% dry—but did the kids care? Not one bit! In fact, the "wet castles" seemed to add an extra layer of adventure. Seeing the children laughing and bouncing through the puddles while their parents cheered on the relay walkers was a highlight of our year. It proved that whether it's sunshine or showers, the community spirit of Relay For Life is unstoppable. We were so proud to contribute to an event that raised over £38,000 for Cancer Research UK!
Why This Cause Matters to Us
As a family-run business named after my daughter, Gabriella Savannah, we understand the importance of family milestones. Our logo even features a purple butterfly in memory of Savannah. Supporting an event that fights for "more tomorrows" is a perfect fit for our values.
Whether we are delivering a bouncy castle to a back garden in Sudbury, a school fete in Witham, or a community event in Tendring, we bring that same "family-first" dedication to every setup.
What’s in Store for Relay For Life Colchester 2026?
We aren't just resting on our laurels; we are going bigger for Relay For Life Colchester 2026! (Which is on the 1st August from 11am this year!) We’re already prepping our lineup to ensure this year is even better. For the 2026 event, GabSav’s Party Hire is planning:
An Expanded Inflatable Zone: Better castles and more variety to keep the energy high.
Toddler Zone: A smaller toddler-friendly castle and soft play so little ones can get involved without the rough and tumble that bouncing children provide!
5-Star Service: Bringing our signature clean, safe, and professional setup to the Garrison track once again.
